Description:
A Dishwasher/Busser is responsible for cleaning and maintaining dishware, utensils, floors, tables and chairs. An organized individual will excel at this position by keeping a tidy dish area, maintain organized food storage areas and assist with cleaning projects throughout the restaurant, all the while making sure that our customer's needs are always met.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
โ€ข Develop and maintain professional functional working relationships with IHOP Team Members and guests.
โ€ข Clear, clean and reset tables and clean chairs, booths and floors after guests leave.
โ€ข Pick up, sort and wash all china, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, utensils, etc.
โ€ข Follow dish machine and/or sink procedures per IHOP SOP.
โ€ข Unload, un-box, rotate and store food, equipment and supplies as necessary.
โ€ข Stock and rotate all needed supplies in the service areas and dining room.
โ€ข Comply with all federal, state and local regulations as well as the IHOP Safety Manual and SOP health, sanitation and safety guidelines.
โ€ข Dispose of all trash properly.
โ€ข Check restrooms hourly to ensure proper stocking levels of supplies and the cleanliness of the facilities.
โ€ข Perform all cleaning duties according to posted cleaning charts.
โ€ข Comply with IHOP uniform and appearance standards per SOP guidelines.
โ€ข Perform other assignments or tasks as assigned by the General Manager or acting supervisor.
Requirements:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a
Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member must spend virtually their entire shift on their feet, with regular prolonged standing, remaining upright within minimal seating; continuous walking navigating tight spaces, dining rooms and high-traffic kitchen corridors and moving quickly and pivoting safely while balancing objects in a high-stress restaurant environment. The Team Member regularly must lift and/or up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, including heavy utilization of trunk rotation.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must possess good communication skills to accurately interpret kitchen recipes, company training programs, and follow company safety guidelines. The role requires the ability to understand spoken English instructions clearly and collaborate effectively with teammates during fast-paced shifts. Additionally, they must read English proficiently enough to process guest food orders, handle ticket modifications, and maintain seamless team operations under pressure.
