As part of the Flagstaff CARE - Community Alliance Response Team, the CARE Crisis Specialist responds, along with a Flagstaff Fire Department EMT, to individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use concern, via the Flagstaff 911 Dispatch Center.
The individual will need to be professional, friendly, a self-starter, organized, and compassionate.

Responsibilities:
We are currently hiring for a Crisis Specialist CARE - On-Call
Arizona License: LCSW, LPC, LISAC, LMSW, LAC, LASAC or LMFT, in Good Standing - Highly Preferred
Bilingual in Spanish is a PLUS (Additional Language Differential is Available)
PRN/On-Call staff, must be able to commit or make an effort to fill at least four
(4) shifts per month.
Utilizing best practices in crisis intervention, the Care Crisis Specialist responds to and supports individuals and families in crisis.
Your duties would include but are not limited to:
  • Engages in mobile crisis response, brief psychotherapeutic intervention, and immediate treatment/safety planning in a variety of settings including but not limited to public areas, individual residences, and businesses.
  • Works effectively and respectfully with clients, fire department personnel and other first responders, families, health professionals, and all partners involved.
  • Develops short-term crisis management/safety plans with clients or families including having knowledge/understanding of the involuntary petition process.
  • Makes appropriate referrals to other agencies and/or long-term counseling when appropriate.
  • Supports psychiatric hospital placements by providing coordination, planning and facilitation with hospital staff.
  • Maintains client records and completes required documentation in the electronic health record in an accurate and timely manner,
  • Displays flexibility and ability to adapt to change.

Minimum Requirements:
  • GED/High school diploma with a minimum of 1.5 years of behavioral health experience, or an associate's degree in the behavioral health field, or
  • A bachelor's degree (not in the field of behavioral health) and 1 year of behavioral health experience, or
  • A bachelor's degree in the behavioral health field (e.g. Psychology, Social Work, Counseling)
  • Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card (Level 1) or apply for an Arizona fingerprint clearance card within 7 working days of employment
  • Must have valid Arizona driver's license, be (21 years of age) with minimum 4 years driving experience and meet requirements of Terros Health's driving policy. Driving is an essential function of this position.
  • Ability to work well and tactfully with individuals and groups.
  • Ability to perform physical duties associated with this role

Preferred:
  • Preference will be given to applicants with previous crisis counseling experience.
  • A master's degree or higher in the field of behavioral health (e.g. Psychology, Social Work, Counseling), Arizona BH licensure (e.g. licensed social worker, licensed counselor, licensed marriage and family therapist)
  • 1-3 years of Substance Abuse, Mental Health, and/or other crisis management skills
