Job description

Technica is seeking a Supply Technician to support operations at Fort Wainwright.

Position Summary:

  • Reports to the Technica Supervisor.
  • Compiles and records data from such documents as customer supply orders (Non-Automated and Automated) forms, following prescribed recording procedures and using GCSS-Army.
  • Maintains files of documents used and prepared in accordance with governing rules, regulations, and policies, using GCSS-Army.
  • Manage hand receipts, perform inventory adjustments, transfers and update authorization using GCSS-Army.
  • Post supply status and receipt information to the activity register.
  • Receives, stores, and issues various materials.
  • Physically inventory materials by inventory documentation in conjunction with requirements for supply activities.
  • Noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages of stored materials.
  • Routing materials to prescribed storage locations.
  • Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
  • Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials.
  • Sorting, categorizing, receiving and issuing equipment to customers.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Technica Supervisor or related to the overall operation of the section/branch that the position is assigned to perform.

Requirements:

  • A good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines.
  • Minimal of one-year experience utilizing the Global Combat Supply Support- Army (GCSS-A) are preferred.
  • An understanding of the needs of the organization/units serviced.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft programs. Ex. Excel, Word, Access, Outlook.
  • Must have at least one-year experience working in Property Book or Supply Support Activity.
  • Must have knowledge of Army Regulations for Property and Supply.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and experience working with customers.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, blowing sand, heavy rain, snow, and sleet.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
