Role: Authorization Specialist (Healthcare)
Location: Phoenix, 85016
Setting: 100% on site
Schedule: Flexible start time after training (between 7a - 9a)
Pay: $20 - $27
We're seeking an experienced Authorization Specialist to join a growing healthcare team. This role focuses on surgical prior authorizations, insurance verification, and accurate documentation to support the scheduling team.
What You'll Do:
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and obtain prior authorizations
  • Review diagnosis (ICD?10) and CPT codes to meet payer guidelines
  • Work directly with insurance plans and internal clinics (no patient calls)
  • Process and document authorization requests accurately in the system
  • Update demographic information to ensure clean patient records
  • Meet productivity and accuracy standards in a high?volume environment
  • Support training on authorization procedures as needed

What You Bring:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years in medical billing or authorization
  • Strong knowledge of surgical authorizations, CPT/ICD10 codes, and CMS/insurance guidelines
  • Ophthalmology experience a plus
  • Detail?oriented, reliable, and HIPAA?compliant
