What is an 80/20 job or the 80/20 rule in the workplace?

The term '80/20 job' refers to positions or tasks that follow the Pareto Principle, which states that roughly 80% of results come from 20% of efforts. In the workplace, this means focusing on the most impactful tasks that drive the majority of outcomes. Employees in 80/20 jobs prioritize high-value activities and minimize time spent on less productive work. This approach increases efficiency and helps organizations achieve better results with fewer resources.

Success in this role is often measured by your ability to identify and prioritize the most profitable leads, efficiently allocate your time, and exceed sales targets. You'll likely collaborate closely with account managers, marketing, and other sales team members to develop strategies and ensure seamless customer experiences. This role can be both challenging and rewarding, requiring strong decision-making skills and the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
