Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Job Description
This role focuses on accurately processing multi-location payrolls on bi-monthly and weekly cycles, handling complex manual calculations, and ensuring timely and compliant payroll delivery for a high-volume employee population. You will support a collaborative payroll team, contribute to continuous process improvements, and help maintain a positive and growth-oriented workplace culture.
Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll on a regular basis, including bi-monthly and weekly payroll cycles for a large employee population.
- Perform daily manual payroll calculations to ensure accurate pay for all employees, including regular hours, overtime, and special pay types.
- Handle corporate payroll adjustments each week, including corrections, retroactive pay, and other necessary changes.
- Complete payroll processing for at least 300 employees per week, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal controls and timelines.
- Perform payroll reconciliations to verify that payroll data aligns with financial records and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Calculate and process payroll taxes, deductions, and garnishments in compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
- Support multi-location payroll processing, ensuring that regional or local requirements are correctly applied.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation to support audits, reporting, and internal reviews.
- Collaborate with payroll team members to share information, resolve issues, and continuously improve payroll processes.
- Assist with payroll-related inquiries by researching issues and providing clear, timely responses to internal stakeholders.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in payroll processing, including responsibility for end-to-end payroll cycles.
- Hands-on experience processing payroll for at least 300 employees per week.
- Strong background in bi-monthly and weekly payroll cycles.
- Experience with multi-location payroll and familiarity with varying local requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll runs.
- Working knowledge of payroll tax calculations, including statutory deductions and employer obligations.
- Experience handling deductions and garnishments in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when performing manual payroll calculations.
- Ability to work with confidential information and maintain strict confidentiality of payroll data.

Work Environment
You will work as part of a dedicated payroll department that includes two payroll managers, one focused on union payroll and one on nonunion payroll. Each payroll team consists of approximately 8 to 10 members, providing a collaborative and supportive environment where team members share knowledge and assist one another. The culture emphasizes growth opportunities and a positive, team-oriented atmosphere. The role involves working with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel on a regular basis, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to payroll schedules for both bi-monthly and weekly cycles.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lewisville, TX 75067.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
