Job description

Construction Project Engineer - Banking Industry Construction - Base Salary to 65k/year - Milford, OH

  • Our client is an established commercial general contractor specializing in renovation, remodeling, and ground-up construction projects throughout the Midwest and nationwide. They are seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support commercial construction projects from initial setup through project closeout.
  • This role is well suited for a construction professional with Project Engineer or Project Coordinator experience in commercial construction. The Construction Project Engineer will coordinate with Estimators, Project Managers, Team Leads, Site Supervisors, subcontractors, and clients while supporting project documentation, RFIs, submittals, scheduling, permitting, change orders, and other project management activities. The position is based in the Milford, OH office with occasional travel to project sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up commercial construction projects, including subcontractor onboarding and project closeout documentation
  • Maintain project documentation using Procore, Microsoft Excel, and related construction management systems
  • Review and analyze blueprints, plans, specifications, contracts, architectural drawings, structural drawings, and other construction documents
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, prime contracts, and related project documentation
  • Coordinate with the Estimating team throughout the bidding and preconstruction process
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, permitting, and construction coordination
  • Assist with evaluating project costs and the impact of revisions and change orders
  • Coordinate project activities and documentation with subcontractors, clients, site personnel, and internal project teams
  • Support projects through all stages of construction, from project setup through closeout
  • Travel to project sites as needed, including occasional out-of-state travel

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years commercial construction experience
  • Construction Management or similar degree required
  • Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, or related commercial construction project experience
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications relative to project scope and schedule
  • Experience or education involving architectural and structural drawings
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and construction project documentation
  • Ability to work full time from the Milford, OH office and at project sites as required
  • Ability to travel to different cities/states for 2-3 days a month
  • Ability to meet applicable project-site security and company driving requirements in accordance with applicable laws
