Job description

Overview TeleWorld Solutions is seeking a deeply technical 5G Interoperability (IODT) Protocol Test Engineer to support forward-looking feature validation with leading chipset partners such as Qualcomm, Apple, and MediaTek . This role sits at the core of next-generation wireless development—testing early 5G features, analyzing complex protocol logs, and ensuring Samsung’s RAN products interoperate flawlessly with the world’s most advanced modem chipsets. If you excel at PHY/MAC/RLC/NAS debugging and thrive in a fast-paced lab environment, this role puts you at the cutting edge of 5G innovation.

Who We Are: The Architects of What Connects Us You find the signal in the noise of data. We build the signal itself. We are TeleWorld Solutions , and we are the strategic backbone for the world's most ambitious wireless networks.

We're not just consultants; we're the engineers, designers, and problem-solvers that operators, OEMs, and tower giants trust to bring their boldest visions to life. Our playground is the invisible architecture of connection—from vast macro networks to the hyper-precise world of DAS, Small Cells, and Wi-Fi. With a legacy of hundreds of thousands of successful implementations , we help our clients navigate the entire lifecycle of their network: from the first line of a design to the final optimization, and every critical decision about performance and value in between.

Why does this matter to you? The complex data you will master—the CDRs, network KPIs, and customer signals—flows from the very infrastructure we design and optimize. You won't just be analyzing abstract numbers; you'll be interpreting the digital heartbeat of networks that we helped bring to life.

Your insights will directly influence the next generation of those networks. Here, your work as a data storyteller is powered by deep, tangible engineering excellence. You provide the "what" and "why." We provide the "how" on a global scale.

Welcome to the engine room of connection. Let's build what's next Responsibilities Protocol & Feature Testing Execute 5G/4G IODT testing with chipset vendors (Qualcomm, MediaTek, Apple). Own interoperability, systems, and performance testing for advanced 5G NR features.

Convert product requirements into system-level test cases and execute end-to-end. Lead protocol log analysis using QXDM/QCAT/XCAL to identify failures and root causes. Analyze MAC, RLC, RRC, and PDCP layer behavior for feature validation.

Debugging & Analysis Perform deep dive debugging of UE logs at the E-level protocol stack . Investigate and resolve interoperability issues encountered during IODT cycles. Collaborate directly with chipset partners to troubleshoot next-gen feature behavior.

Test Planning & Execution Develop new test cases (~30% of workload) and re-execute existing test suites (~70%). Provide accurate and thorough reporting on test results, defects, and performance metrics. Support internal engineering teams with detailed protocol analysis during feature development.

Cross-Functional Collaboration Represent Samsung in meetings with chipset vendors, technical SMEs, and internal RAN teams. Work closely with Samsung HQ and SEA teams to support new feature rollouts. Support partner labs (San Diego, etc.) with occasional travel (rare).

Qualifications Technical Core 5G NR air interface expertise , including PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, PDCP. Strong hands-on experience with QXDM / QCAT / XCAL DM for protocol log analysis. Proven experience with 5G/4G UE modem testing , chipset-based validation, or IODT/IOT.

Deep understanding of RAN architecture and end-to-end call processing. Experience with parameter tuning , test strategy creation , and performance analysis . Experience 8–10 years of 4G/5G protocol testing experience (or 6+ years with a Master’s ).

Candidates without a degree will be considered if they have strong protocol background. Experience working with chipset vendors (Qualcomm/MediaTek/Apple) is strongly preferred. Prior involvement in 3GPP Release features is beneficial.

Tools & Technologies QXDM, QCAT, XCAL, Wireshark, spectrum analyzers, channel emulators. Familiarity with Samsung OSS/EMS systems is helpful (not required). Python scripting is a nice to have , but logic is more important than the language.

S oft Skills Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities. Excellent communication and cross-team coordination skills. Ability to explain technical findings to internal and external stakeholders.

Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced lab environment. Why This Role is Important You will be part of the team directly responsible for ensuring Samsung’s RAN products seamlessly interoperate with the world’s most important 5G chipset vendors. Your work will influence the performance and reliability of next-generation 5G networks used globally.
