Job description

Key Personnel is seeking a Purchasing Agent/Buyer for a manufacturing facility in the Oklahoma City, OK area.

Purchasing Agent/Buyer Pay Rate: $45k - $52k annually (based on experience)

Purchasing Agent/Buyer Hours: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm
Purchasing Agent/Buyer Responsibilities:

• Coordinate procurement and distribution of materials, parts, equipment, and supplies to support production and operational needs
• Evaluate usage trends, reorder points, and safety stock levels using ERP system reports
• Create and issue purchase orders for raw materials and purchased components in accordance with company policies
• Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
• Review supplier quotations for both new and existing components and ensure alignment with requirements
• Monitor supplier performance and issue change orders as needed
• Track and follow up on open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery; expedite late orders when necessary
• Communicate changes in demand or requirements to suppliers in a timely manner
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend alternate or secondary suppliers
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality Assurance on specifications, deviations, and material alternatives
• Review Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and technical drawings related to materials and parts procurement
• Maintain knowledge of specifications and procedures for purchasing engineered products
• Manage procurement of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) supplies
Purchasing Agent/Buyer Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional education in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
• 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong understanding of computer systems and ERP platforms (ERP experience preferred)
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
