Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marine Engineer develops, designs, and engineers marine systems, components, and related manufacturing methods. This role champions process improvements aligned with company standards and manages hands-on product development, from CAD design to prototype fabrication and production trials. The Marine Engineer ensures high standards of quality, reliability, and safety in manufacturing while actively engaging in problem solving, prototyping, and shop floor support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Initiates, manages, and completes engineering projects involving existing and prototype products.
  • Manages overall construction and timelines for new product programs.
  • Communicates and collaborates with other departments as required.
  • Performs troubleshooting duties related to engineering, manufacturing equipment, product systems, and component issues.
  • Provides floor support to resolve production barriers.
  • Engages in all aspects of Phase Gate new product development activities.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering field preferred. (if applicable)
  • Certificate(s) or License(s):
  • Years of experience: 3-5 years of engineering experience in a related industry (marine, automotive, powersports, recreational vehicle, aerospace).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Proficiency with state-of-the-art software systems for design and engineering (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Catia, Rhino, 3D Experience).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, self-start, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and lead when required.
  • Working knowledge of various marine construction methods used in 40'-80' vessels and all types of yachts.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimal travel for project support.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly walks, sits, stands and does computer work.
Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
