Job Description:

About the role:

A Traffic & Revenue Engineer is responsible for analyzing traffic and socioeconomic data to develop accurate and reliable traffic and revenue forecasts. They play a crucial role in the feasibility analysis of new project developments by providing data-driven insights and models for long-term traffic & revenue forecasts. A Traffic & Revenue Engineer also utilizes the knowledge gathered through the analysis of the data to develop long-term revenue forecasts of existing projects in Cintra's portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of traffic and socioeconomic data within the concession companies and their area of influence.

  • Develop and maintain sophisticated spreadsheet-based models to project traffic and revenue, considering historical data and prevailing economic conditions.

  • Prepare traffic & revenue related memos examining trends, leading indicators and travel patterns, present findings and forecasts to supervisors and company executives.

  • Stay abreast of regional policies, market trends, and technological advancements that may impact traffic and revenue projections.

  • Define, implement, and analyze traffic data collection programs including but not limited to traffic counts, market research surveys, opinion polls and travel time surveys

  • Collaborate with the business development department to prepare traffic and revenue components of feasibility analyses for potential projects.

  • Develop an expertise in one or more of Cintra's North American concessions, becoming an in-house expert on its traffic & revenue data, legal and contractual obligations, and operational characteristics

  • Prepare monthly reports that summarize the findings of the analyses conducting particularly recent traffic, revenue, and economic conditions on Cintra's North American concession companies for use within the company


Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Completed a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a focus on transportation and/or data analysis.

  • Completed coursework in transportation engineering, traffic analysis, traffic flow theory, and/or transportation planning are a plus

  • 1 to 3+ years of experience in transportation analysis

  • Experience in conducting research, analyzing data, identifying trends, and generating insights

  • Experience with discrete choice modeling, econometrics, or data mining would be valuable

  • A specific interest in transportation

  • Coding Proficiency: Basic coding skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar languages for data analysis and modeling are highly desirable.
