The pay range is $73,000.00 - $132,000.00

Our Digital Product Creation capability is transforming how products are designed, developed, and experienced by enabling speed, quality, and innovation at scale. As a 3D Designer, you will lead the creation of compelling, design-driven 3D content that brings product concepts to life and influences decision-making across the product lifecycle. You will operate as a creative partner to Design, Product Development, and Brand teams, using 3D and AI-enabled workflows to explore ideas, refine concepts, and deliver high-quality visual outputs.
You will play a key role in evolving how design teams leverage 3D and Gen AI as core design tools, while ensuring outputs are aligned with brand standards and scalable across platforms.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the creation of high-quality 3D assets and visualizations, translating 2D concepts, sketches, and design direction into compelling product storytelling while driving excellence in modeling, materials, lighting, rendering, and composition.
  • Leverage Gen AI and prompt-driven workflows to rapidly explore, refine, and communicate product concepts, materials, colorways, and styling directions.
  • Integrate Gen AI outputs with 3D design workflows to deliver production-ready visualizations that accelerate concept development and decision-making.
  • Partner closely with product designers to co-create, iterate, and influence product concepts through rapid visualization, prototyping, and reduced reliance on physical samples.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with technical artists, merchandising, marketing, digital teams, and external partners to ensure scalable, optimized, and brand-consistent design outcomes.
  • Maintain alignment with Target brand standards, category-specific design language, and quality expectations across all visual deliverables and channels.
  • Drive innovation by identifying and applying emerging trends, tools, and workflows in 3D visualization and AI-enabled design to improve creative exploration, efficiency, and design outcomes.
  • Enable team capability through knowledge sharing, documentation, best-practice development, and support for adoption of 3D and Gen AI workflows across Design and Product Development teams.

About You:
  • Four-year degree in Design, 3D Design, CGI, Digital Media, Product Design, Industrial Design or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in 3D design, visualization, CGI, digital product creation, creative technology, or related fields
  • Proficient in industry-standard 3D design, visualization, and rendering tools such as SolidWorks, Rhino, 3ds Max, Maya, Blender, Substance Suite, Unreal Engine, KeyShot, CLO, Browzwear, or similar platforms
  • Experience using Gen AI design tools such as ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly, Vizcom, Runway, or similar tools to support ideation, concept development, and design exploration
  • Strong understanding of modeling, materials, lighting, rendering, scene composition, scale, proportion, and visual storytelling
  • Knowledge of real-time, interactive, digital, and production environments, including optimization and production-ready asset creation
  • Highly collaborative and able to successfully work with designers, technical partners, merchants, marketers, and business teams
  • Effective at presenting ideas, influencing decisions, and communicating new workflows and creative approaches
  • Motivated and self-directed with strong ownership, accountability, and follow-through from concept through delivery
  • Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, original, and efficient design solutions
  • Strong aptitude for design, visualization, emerging technology, and AI-enabled creativity, with a demonstrated curiosity for trends, innovation, and continuous learning

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
