Title: Distribution Designer (Natural Gas Pipeline)
Location: Remote
Hire Type: Contract to hire
Shift: Standard Business Hours
Compensation: $35-$40/hour

Must have Skill Set: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and natural gas industry design experience

Overview:
The Distribution Designer supports natural gas pipeline projects by producing accurate, high-quality design drawings and documentation. Working in a fully remote environment, this role requires strong technical drafting abilities, sharp attention to detail, and the capability to interpret technical data, soil bore logs, and permit requirements. Candidates should be self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to grow their technical expertise while managing project deliverables on time and within allocated hours.
Job Duties:
  • Complete small-diameter designs, preliminary line-of-lay alignments, plan and profile views, and detailed cross-sections for pipeline/facility layouts.
  • Clean up, integrate, and organize survey, third-party CAD files, and cross-reference (x-ref) drawings.
  • Interpret locate data, land/environmental investigation data, soil bore logs, and geotechnical reports to adjust gas main locations.
  • Create and manage sheet sets using Sheet Set Manager, drafting complete Public Improvement Plan sets from baseline through final design.
  • Generate elevation views, simple cross-sections, and moderately complex site plans while applying knowledge of pipeline stationing.
  • Perform baseline design drafting reviews for simple, non-main installation projects and conduct permit drawing reviews for accuracy and compliance.
