Job description

Job Title: Industrial Painter

Job Description

This role focuses on painting large industrial mining equipment, including dump bodies, using HVLP sprayers in a well-ventilated paint booth. You will prepare surfaces through sanding and other prep work, apply wet paint with spray equipment, and support related tasks within an industrial manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Paint large industrial mining equipment, including dump bodies, using HVLP spray guns and wet paint systems.
  • Prepare parts and surfaces for painting by sanding, cleaning, and performing detailed paint prep work.
  • Operate spray guns and related painting equipment safely and efficiently in an industrial paint booth.
  • Assist with sandblasting and other surface preparation activities as needed.
  • Follow established painting procedures to achieve consistent coverage, finish quality, and adherence to specifications.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment and maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Work at heights when required and perform tasks that involve bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Wear protective gear that covers the face, head, and shoulders while working in the paint booth.
  • Work effectively as part of a team of painters, coordinating tasks and supporting others as needed.
  • Adapt to strong odors and varying temperatures within the paint booth and surrounding areas.
  • Perform other duties, assignments, and special projects as assigned by leadership.

Essential Skills

  • At least one year of experience in paint preparation in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in wet paint or automotive painting.
  • Hands-on experience using HVLP sprayers and spray guns for industrial or automotive painting.
  • Proficiency in paint prep techniques including sanding, cleaning, and masking.
  • Ability to pass a respirator test and work safely while wearing respiratory protection.
  • Comfort working at heights and performing physical tasks such as bending and twisting.
  • Ability to wear protective gear that covers the face, head, and shoulders.
  • Capability to work in environments with strong odors and varying temperatures.
  • Familiarity with industrial painting processes, including working in a paint booth.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and using required PPE, including steel-toed boots, eyewear, and ear plugs.

Pay and Benefits
