Position Description
The Material Handler supports warehouse operations by safely and efficiently moving, storing, and tracking materials. This role involves unloading trucks, operating powered industrial trucks (PIT) and overhead cranes, performing inventory transactions, and maintaining accurate material records using SAP and handheld scanners. The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring timely material availability to support production and shipping operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Unload inbound trucks and receive materials accurately and safely
  • Transport materials within the warehouse using PIT (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) and cranes
  • Store materials in designated locations following warehouse layout and safety standards
  • Perform replenishment activities to support production and order fulfillment
  • Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activities
  • Record all material movements and transactions in SAP
  • Use handheld scanners to track inventory and ensure data accuracy
  • Identify and report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, or unsafe conditions
  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and equipment operation guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse

Required Education & Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Previous warehouse or material handling experience preferred
  • Experience operating PIT equipment and cranes, or willingness to be trained and certified
  • Familiarity with SAP or other warehouse management systems preferred
  • Experience using handheld scanners or RF devices
  • Ability to read work instructions, labels, and inventory documentation
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull materials up to specified weight limits
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels

Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma of GED required.
