3rd Shift Furnace Operator โ€“ Join Our Experienced Heat-Treating Team

Weโ€™re looking for an experienced 3rd Shift Furnace Operator to join our team and help us deliver precision-treated parts to customers across a variety of industries.

What Youโ€™ll Do

Operate and Maintain Heat-Treating Equipment

  • Set up, load, operate, unload, and monitor integral batch hardening and tempering furnaces

  • Use machine controls to maintain correct processing parameters

  • Edit heat-treat programs when needed (within permitted guidelines)

  • Introduce and remove endothermic gas as required

  • Follow shop router instructions and our Quality Management System standards

  • Perform appropriate tasks during power interruptions

Material Handling & Load Building

  • Move incoming jobs from receiving to staging using hand-carry, 2-wheeler, or tow motor

  • Build furnace loads: fill baskets, fixture and wire parts, and break down loads after processing

  • Use the charge car to safely load and unload furnaces

  • Return completed parts to correct containers

Monitoring, Documentation & Quality Compliance

  • Accurately complete all required fields on shop routers

  • Track orders in the floor tracking system

  • Identify and report any process deviations that could affect quality

Inspection & Testing

  • Perform hardness testing and case-depth checks

  • Communicate results or concerns to senior staff or your supervisor

  • Assist with sample preparation and documentation for quality certification

Teamwork & Communication

  • Collaborate with co-workers and incoming shift personnel to ensure smooth shift transitions

  • Support the Quality Control team when needed to keep production flowing seamlessly


What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to meet physical demands (lifting up to 60 lbs, climbing ladders, working in high-heat areas)

  • Tow motor operation

  • 3โ€“5 years of experience working with controlled-atmosphere integral quench furnaces and air temper furnaces

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
