Our manufacturing operations are growing - and so is our team. We're looking for an additional Engineering Support Specialist on 1st and 3rd shift.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Engineering Support Specialist serves as a key technical support resource across engineering teams, providing hands-on assistance in data analysis, process troubleshooting, documentation, and the implementation of engineering changes. This role supports ongoing development efforts by translating engineering direction into actionable support activities. The Engineering Support Specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency, drive improvements, and maintain accurate technical records across manufacturing, industrial, and product domains.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- (depending on area of assignment)

  • Support engineering teams in resolving technical issues through root cause data gathering and analysis.
  • Participate in implementation of process and design changes.
  • Update process documentation, drawings, and test records.
  • Coordinate cross-functional communication on smaller projects or improvement efforts.
  • Managing internal document control or technical libraries.
  • Supporting internal audits, inspections, or compliance documentation.
  • Performing preliminary equipment troubleshooting or calibration support.
  • Work independently on routine assignments and under direction on complex tasks.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.

Manufacturing:

  • Analyze process data and assist in troubleshooting yield or downtime issues.
  • Support implementation of new equipment, fixtures, or production methods.
  • Maintain detailed manufacturing documentation (SOPs, control plans).

Industrial:

  • Assist with time studies, process balancing, and layout changes.
  • Participate in kaizen events and continuous improvement activities.
  • Track production metrics and assist in developing visual management tools.

Product:

  • Coordinate prototype and pilot runs, capturing performance and test data.
  • Support design validation efforts and ensure test protocols are followed.
  • Track engineering changes and update part configuration or BOMs.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinating minor projects or trials that impact multiple departments.
  • Training operators or technicians on process or documentation updates.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate or technical degree in engineering, drafting, product design, operations, supply chain, or another related field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in drafting or design support, manufacturing, product development, or equivalent experience, if degreed. Minimum of 6 years of experience in drafting or design support, manufacturing, product development, or equivalent experience, if non-degreed.

Required Skills:

  • Intermediate PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Proficient in engineering software and tools.
  • Intermediate project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Technical documentation and drafting (CAD/Visio/Excel).
  • Clear communication across engineering and operations.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge with ERP/MRP/PLM systems and production data tools.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, quality, or other improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of work measurement systems.
  • Knowledge of internal data systems.

SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • Periodic travel including overnight stays.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to navigate in a manufacturing environment, including navigating stairs.
