Job description

Imagine clocking in at our Clackamas, OR facility—just off I-205 and an easy drive from Sandy, Estacada, Clackamas, or Milwaukie—and stepping up to a high-pressure aluminum die cast cell producing precision parts for the automotive and on highway truck industry. You’re the person who keeps the process humming and the quality consistent.

Your day
  • Operate a high-pressure aluminum die casting machine to produce components used in automotive and on highway truck applications.
  • Use a crane to position the specified die sections into the machine, then bolt the die in place and adjust the stroke of the ram.
  • Conduct safety checks on all equipment at the start of shift and as needed, correcting or reporting hazards immediately.
  • Connect the water hose to the die’s cooling system and preheat die sections with an electric heater.
  • Set valves and dials to regulate water flow through the die and control machine speed—tuning settings to match the part’s size and structure as well as the metal’s type and temperature.
  • Adjust air and spray devices to blow metal fragments from die surfaces and to apply lubricant into the die cavity and onto the plunger.
  • Configure automatic equipment to ladle molten metal into the machine’s chamber.
  • Verify metal level and holding-furnace temperature throughout the shift.
  • Monitor process parameters, measure critical variables, and make the machine adjustments required to maintain a consistent, compliant process.

  • Schedule: 40 hour work week with benefits such as medical, dental, vision, short term disability, 401k, monthly gym reimbursement, and more.
