As our business looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are seeking an experienced Warehouse and Logistics Shift Team Leader to responsible for leading daily logistics, warehouse, distribution, and bulk material handling operations in a chemical manufacturing environment. This role oversees safe and compliant movement, storage, shipping, receiving, inventory control, railcar and trailer activity, SAP transactions, and coordination with internal and external partners to support production and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead daily logistics and material handling activities, including railcars, trailers, and carrier coordination for pickups and deliveries.
• Oversee daily warehouse and distribution operations, including receiving, storage, staging, picking, shipping, cycle counting, and physical inventories.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with carriers, logistics partners, and internal teams to ensure safe and timely material movement.
• Administer SAP receiving, shipping, inventory, and process order transactions to support accurate material movement and production execution.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, including batch/lot tracking, expiration dates, shelf-life management, and inventory corrections.
• Monitor demand versus tank capacity and inventory requirements to prevent stockouts, production disruptions, and excess inventory.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory, receiving, shipping, labeling, and SAP-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, HAZMAT, FRA, OSHA, EPA, and company requirements across all logistics and warehouse activities.
• Ensure hazardous materials are properly classified, labeled, stored, documented, and shipped in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Support incident investigations, audits, corrective actions, and compliance follow-up activities.
• Lead, coach, train, schedule, and develop logistics and warehouse employees.
• Create and execute daily work assignments while balancing operational priorities and future workload requirements.
• Work effectively within a union environment and manage responsibilities in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
• Coordinate with Operations, Production Planning, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and EHS to support production and resolve operational issues.
• Identify and implement improvements in safety, efficiency, inventory accuracy, material flow, warehouse utilization, and overall logistics performance.
Qualifications

Experience
• Strong experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution, bulk material handling, chemical storage, shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
• Understanding of DOT, HAZMAT, FRA, IATA, OSHA, EPA, GHS labeling, SDS, and chemical handling requirements.
• DOT HAZMAT and IATA certification, or ability to obtain and maintain required certifications.
Technical Skills
• Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP/WMS systems, including receiving, shipping, inventory corrections, batch/lot tracking, and reporting.
• Ability to lead teams, coach employees, assign work, resolve issues, and communicate effectively across departments.
• Ability to work in a unionized environment and operate within the requirements of the CBA.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, planning, and follow-through skills.
