What You'll DoAs a Chemical Operator I, you will operate semi-automatic equipment that processes chemicals into finished products. You'll be trained to operate at least one work cell and play a key role in maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Weigh and measure solid, powdered, liquid, and gaseous materials
- Load and offload chemicals safely and efficiently
- Monitor and maintain system parameters such as temperature, pressure, and vacuum levels
- Adjust equipment controls to optimize reaction speed, product quality, and yield
- Operate pumps, filters, and related processing equipment
- Accurately use scales and measuring systems
- Complete production paperwork and documentation
- Work closely with Quality Control and R&D teams
- Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and submit maintenance work orders as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in accordance with safety, housekeeping, and 6S standards
- Support team goals and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For - High school diploma or GED required
- 1-3 years of experience in chemical processing or manufacturing preferred
- Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Respirator certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs consistently
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks at once
- Willingness to learn with a humble, positive attitude
- Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Work Environment - Non-temperature-controlled environment
- Exposure to moderate noise and occasional odors
- Standing, walking, lifting, bending, and climbing required
- Use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, or respirators as needed
Schedule & Compensation - Full-time, minimum 40 hours per week
- Competitive hourly wage of $19 an hour (depending on experience) + 4% shift premium for 2nd Shift or 6% shift premium for 3rd
