  • Ensure compliance with all company, customer, DOT, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Conduct daily safety observations and enforce all established safety procedures and best practices.
  • Manage and review 5500 reports, trailer red tags, safety inspections, and required operational documentation.
  • Complete and verify daily safety checklists for each tour and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Coordinate shift transitions by providing comprehensive daily and weekly handoff reports to ensure operational continuity.
  • Monitor terminal performance metrics, identify trends, and communicate operational opportunities to leadership.
  • Deliver timely coaching and feedback regarding service failures, safety concerns, and operational performance.
  • Conduct onsite interviews and coordinate USPS badging requirements for new employees and contractors.
  • Train new and existing employees on standard operating procedures, customer expectations, and process improvements.
  • Investigate operational issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and service levels.
  • Partner closely with customer personnel, drivers, dispatch, operations leadership, and support teams to resolve issues quickly.
  • Ensure accurate completion of operational paperwork and maintain data integrity across company systems.
  • Support staffing needs, scheduling, and daily workforce planning to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Travel regularly to customer locations to support operations, training, and leadership initiatives (approximately 90% travel).

Position Requirements

  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in transportation, warehouse, distribution, logistics, fleet, or 3PL operations required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and coach employees toward high performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong customer and employee relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to make sound operational decisions under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
  • Safety-focused mindset with a commitment to maintaining compliance and promoting a culture of safety.
  • Experience conducting employee coaching, performance feedback, interviews, and training preferred.
  • Working knowledge of transportation operations, dock management, trailer movements, and freight handling.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or Yard Management Systems (YMS) is preferred.
