Job description

US Farathane is hiring for a Dimensional Lab Technician to work out of our Corporate Tech Center in Auburn Hills, this role will function on 2nd shift, hours of operation would be 2PM - 11PM
Summary:
The CMM Operator assists in assuring dimensional conformance requests, using various metrology techniques and various metrology tools to include, but not limited to; CMM’s, 3D scanners, hand tools, etc. Performance of various tasks relating to, but not limited to the above-mentioned functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ability to operate various measuring equipment (CMM and, or 3D scanner and, or optical comparator)
  • Ability to operate hand measurement instruments (Calipers, Micrometers, Height gage, etc.)
  • Full understanding of G.D.T and its fundamentals and how to apply each to each job and, or task performed.
  • Ability to provide assessment of G.D.T feasibility for proposed tolerances and proposed datum structure(s).
  • Ability to understand, communicate and generate dimensional reports to all intended audiences in a clear and concise manner.
  • Understanding of customer requirements and ability to satisfy those requirements in each job and, or tasked performed.
  • Ability to perform hand instrument calibration, when applicable.
Qualifications:
  • PC-DMIS software operation (CMM), when applicable.
  • Polyworks/VX Elements software operation (Scanner), when applicable.
  • G.D.T understanding and implementation.
  • Hand measuring equipment operation and calibration, when applicable.
