Job description

Fowlkes Studio, an award-winning architecture and interior design firm located in Washington, DC, is seeking a full-time Interior Designer to work closely with Principals and Architects on projects from design to installation.

Responsibilities can include:

  • Assisting in developing interior design and furniture concepts from initial meeting through construction
  • Preparing design presentations for clients and team reviews
  • Drafting overall space and furniture plans, RCPs, interior elevations, and possibly electrical, construction, and millwork details
  • Preparing plumbing, electrical, and finish schedules
  • Procurement of furniture and decor
  • Requesting samples, sample sourcing, and vendor coordination
  • Assisting in the coordination and execution of installations

Ideal candidates should:

  • Have 2-5 years of experience
  • Be proficient in CAD, 3D modeling, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Communicate well in a small studio environment and with clients
  • Have excellent presentation skills
  • Be highly motivated
