Position Description
Position Summary:
The Product Solutions Engineer is responsible for developing innovative process equipment solutions for the food processing and sanitary industries. Serving as the primary technical liaison between customers, sales partners, and internal teams, this role transforms complex requirements into efficient, functional, and cost-effective designs and system layouts. The Product Solutions Engineer leads projects from initial customer engagement through installation support, ensuring all solutions meet performance, quality, and budget expectations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Customer Engagement
  • Serve as subject matter expert for challenging product line layout problems
  • Lead product design initiatives and development projects from initial conception through commercialization
  • Identify equipment opportunities and support proposal development
  • Drive design excellence across multiple concurrent product development projects
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and partners to ensure project success.

Project Management
  • Manage projects from initial customer contact through installation assistance
  • Provide preliminary drawings and budgetary estimates
  • Coordinate with Product Design, Estimating, and Project Management teams

Design & Development
  • Conceptualize, design, and develop custom equipment layouts, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and production feasibility
  • Create detailed 3D product models and 2D approval drawings using CAD software
  • Develop tools and templates to streamline the creation of customer layouts and approval documentation
  • Identify opportunities for prototype development and support testing efforts to validate design performance with customer feedback

Process Improvement
  • Develop and implement advanced product layout processes and standardized development practices
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, customer satisfaction, and development efficiency
  • Research and introduce new tools and processes to optimize product design and integration with sales partners

Position Requirements
Preferred Knowledge, Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field
  • Over 10 years of experience in food production layout and design development
  • Over 5 years of experience leading product integration initiatives
  • 3-5 years in the food and beverage, as well as sanitary industries, with a strong understanding of industry standards and practices
  • Experienced with capturing customer feedback and translating it into actionable product enhancements and innovations
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Inventor, and Vault for design and project documentation
  • Advanced knowledge of metal fabrication and welding practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proven project management experience with cross-functional groups
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, verbal and communication skills
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities and navigating complex technical challenges
  • Demonstrates strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities
  • Comfortable discussing project budgets, ROI, and equipment value
  • Willingness to travel(10-25%) to customer sites as needed to assess project requirements and gather detailed specifications
