Job Summary:
Symbotic is an automation technology leader reimagining the supply chain with its AI-powered robotic and software platform. They are seeking a Mid-Level 3D Graphics Software Engineer to develop visualization and simulation systems for their autonomous warehouse solutions, directly supporting system design and operational insight.
Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain 3D visualization and simulation systems for automated warehouse environments.
• Architect and optimize rendering pipelines capable of handling large‑scale, highly dynamic scenes.
• Build and evolve digital twin representations that accurately reflect real‑world robotic layouts and system state.
• Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks across CPU and GPU for simulation and visualization workloads.
• Own graphics and visualization features end‑to‑end, from initial design through production deployment.
• Collaborate with robotics, controls, and systems teams to ensure visual accuracy and alignment with physical behavior.
• Develop tools and diagnostics used by internal teams for debugging, analysis, and operational insight.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and help establish best practices for graphics and simulation development.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience developing 3D graphics, simulation, or visualization software.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++/C# or similar language, with an emphasis on performance, correctness, and maintainability.
• Deep understanding of 3D math, spatial transformations, and coordinate systems.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one graphics or rendering API (OpenGL, Vulkan, DirectX, Metal, or similar).
• Proven experience profiling and optimizing real‑time or near‑real‑time systems.
• Experience shipping and maintaining production‑quality software.
• Strong debugging, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills in cross‑disciplinary environments.
Preferred:
• Experience with robotics simulation, digital twins, or industrial visualization.
• Familiarity with physics, kinematics, or discrete‑event simulation concepts.
• Experience integrating graphics with large‑scale systems or real‑time data feeds.
• Exposure to game engines (Unity, Unreal) or custom engines used for simulation.
• Python experience for tooling, automation, or analysis.
• Experience with Node.js, React, WebGL.
• Background in warehouse automation, robotics, manufacturing, or industrial software.
