Job description

Who we are

With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system - reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility.

What we need

We are seeking a MidLevel 3D Graphics Software Engineer to play a key role in developing the visualization and simulation systems that model, analyze, and validate our autonomous warehouse solutions.

In this role, you will design and implement highperformance 3D visualization, simulation, and digitaltwin technologies used to represent large, dynamic warehouse environments consisting of thousands of robots, sensors, and automated subsystems. Your work will directly support system design, debugging, validation, and operational insight across Symbotic deployments.

What we do

Symbotic is revolutionizing warehouse automation by combining intelligent robotics, artificial intelligence, and large-scale software systems. Simulation team collaborate closely with robotics engineers, controls engineers, systems architects, and product teams to ensure that our graphics and simulation software accurately represents realworld behavior while remaining performant, scalable, and maintainable.

What you'll do

  • Design, implement, and maintain 3D visualization and simulation systems for automated warehouse environments.

  • Architect and optimize rendering pipelines capable of handling largescale, highly dynamic scenes.

  • Build and evolve digital twin representations that accurately reflect realworld robotic layouts and system state.

  • Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks across CPU and GPU for simulation and visualization workloads.

  • Own graphics and visualization features endtoend, from initial design through production deployment.

  • Collaborate with robotics, controls, and systems teams to ensure visual accuracy and alignment with physical behavior.

  • Develop tools and diagnostics used by internal teams for debugging, analysis, and operational insight.

  • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design reviews.

  • Mentor junior engineers and help establish best practices for graphics and simulation development.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience developing 3D graphics, simulation, or visualization software.

  • Strong proficiency in modern C++/C# or similar language, with an emphasis on performance, correctness, and maintainability.

  • Deep understanding of 3D math, spatial transformations, and coordinate systems.

  • Handson experience with at least one graphics or rendering API (OpenGL, Vulkan, DirectX, Metal, or similar).

  • Proven experience profiling and optimizing realtime or nearrealtime systems.

  • Experience shipping and maintaining productionquality software.

  • Strong debugging, analytical thinking, and problemsolving skills.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills in crossdisciplinary environments.

NicetoHave Qualifications

  • Experience with robotics simulation, digital twins, or industrial visualization.

  • Familiarity with physics, kinematics, or discreteevent simulation concepts.

  • Experience integrating graphics with largescale systems or realtime data feeds.

  • Exposure to game engines (Unity, Unreal) or custom engines used for simulation.

  • Python experience for tooling, automation, or analysis

  • Experience with Node.js, React, WebGL.

  • Background in warehouse automation, robotics, manufacturing, or industrial software.

Impact and Growth

  • Direct ownership of visualization and simulation systems critical to Symbotic's product development and deployments.

  • Opportunity to influence the architecture and technical direction of largescale digital twin platforms.

  • Work at the intersection of graphics, robotics, and realworld automation.

  • Clear growth path toward senior technical roles or domain leadership in simulation and visualization.

  • The chance to see your work directly enable safer, more efficient, and higherthroughput warehouse operations.

Our environment

  • Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
