Job description

Role Summary:

Revamp is seeking a Senior 3D Electrical Designer to lead, build, and coordinate the 3D models behind utility-scale battery energy storage and solar PV projects. The models you produce become the drawings crews build from, so accuracy and constructability decide whether a project reaches commercial operation on schedule. This work puts you directly on the delivery path for utility-scale renewable generation projects.

In this role, you will carry a portfolio of concurrent projects rather than single assignments. You will set the modeling approach on complex work and approve scopes and level-of-effort estimates for 3D design activities. You will review and approve deliverables produced by other designers, mentor them, and work daily with civil, structural, and electrical engineers, procurement, and clients. This role also contributes to the advancement of Revamp's 3D design capabilities by driving improvements in modeling standards, workflows, automation opportunities, and design technologies that enhance project execution and engineering excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities: Core Technical & Functional Responsibilities
  • Lead development, coordination, and maintenance of complex 3D models, layouts, and renderings for utility-scale PV and BESS projects in Autodesk Inventor.
  • Develop production-ready 3D representations of battery energy storage systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, cable management systems, equipment pads, racking, structural supports, and balance-of-system components.
  • Advise project teams on electrical layout decisions covering cable routing, cable management systems, conduit and trench coordination, equipment clearances, grounding, and equipment interconnections.
  • Own assigned project models, including model organization, revision control, file management, and documentation integrity across the project lifecycle.
  • Resolve spatial conflicts, constructability issues, and interface conditions between the civil, electrical, structural, and mechanical disciplines.
  • Produce and approve sheet sets, technical drawings, details, and renderings derived from 3D models.
  • Contribute to the development of new modeling techniques and automation approaches, and set the 3D modeling standards, templates, and libraries used across the department.
  • Evaluate emerging modeling technologies and digital engineering workflows, and recommend adoption where they improve design quality or throughput.
Project & Portfolio Execution
  • Lead 3D design coordination across multiple concurrent PV and BESS projects, and hold delivery to scope, schedule, quality, and budget commitments.
  • Approve scopes, level-of-effort estimates, schedules, resource plans, and technical assumptions for 3D design activities.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for 3D modeling and multidisciplinary coordination on assigned projects.
  • Identify technical risks, coordination conflicts, and schedule impacts early, and bring project leadership a recommended path.
  • Support fabrication, procurement, and installation planning with coordinated, constructible models.
Quality, Standards & Compliance
  • Approve models, drawings, and design deliverables following formal QA/QC review for technical accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
  • Review vendor- and client-supplied models before incorporation, and document discrepancies for resolution.
  • Confirm that assigned work conforms to company standards, client requirements, applicable industry codes, and jurisdictional regulations.
Mentorship & People Leadership
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to 3D designers, including review of work product and specific technical feedback that builds capability.
  • Coordinate the designers assigned to project deliverables and balance their workload against project schedules.
  • Develop training materials, technical documentation, and lessons learned from completed projects so institutional knowledge stays with the firm.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Coordinate model interfaces and constructability with civil, structural, and electrical engineers, procurement, and construction stakeholders.
  • Present models and visualizations in client design reviews, and answer client questions on equipment layout, cable routing, and constructability decisions.
