35 An Hour Rbt information

What is a $35 an hour RBT?

A $35 an hour RBT refers to a Registered Behavior Technician who earns $35 per hour for providing behavioral therapy services, typically for individuals with autism or other developmental disorders. RBTs work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement treatment plans and collect data on client progress. This hourly rate can vary depending on location, employer, experience, and demand for RBTs in the area. Earning $35 an hour usually indicates a competitive pay rate for this role, reflecting higher demand or increased experience and credentials. Becoming an RBT requires specific training and passing a certification exam.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) earning $35 an hour?

To thrive as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you need a high school diploma (or equivalent), RBT certification, and a solid understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles. Familiarity with data collection tools, ABA therapy software, and compliance with HIPAA regulations is typically required. Strong soft skills include patience, clear communication, and the ability to build rapport with clients, especially children with developmental challenges. These skills are crucial for implementing effective behavioral interventions and ensuring positive outcomes for clients in clinical or educational settings.

What are some common challenges faced by Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) working at a higher hourly rate, such as $35 an hour?

Registered Behavior Technicians earning $35 an hour often take on more complex cases or work in specialized settings, which can present unique challenges. These may include managing more intense behavioral interventions, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, and adapting to varying client needs. Additionally, RBTs at this pay rate are often expected to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and independence, as well as keep up-to-date with best practices and ongoing training. Maintaining clear communication with supervising Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and clients' families is also crucial for success.

Registered Behavioral Health Tech (RBT) - Hawaii - Statewide - Fast Track Placement

Step Ahead ABA

Honolulu, HI • On-site

$30/hr

Full-time

Posted 9 days ago

Job description

This posting is how you join Step Ahead ABA's Fast Track Placement pool for Hawaii. It is not one client case and it is not tied to one city — it covers the whole state, and it stays open all year.

Apply once and you are in the pool. From then on, every time a client case opens anywhere in Hawaii, our placement team works this pool before the case is posted publicly — so you hear about it first.

PAY IN HAWAII

  • $30/hour billable
  • $16/hour for non-billable time, which is training and required meetings — a small share of the week

You know both numbers before you accept a case, and the RBT Leveling System raises your rate at every level.

WHAT FAST TRACK PLACEMENT GETS YOU

Cases do not go public first. When a family is ready for an RBT, our placement team works Fast Track Placement before the case is posted to a job board. Being in the pool means:

  • You hear about a case days before it is advertised anywhere
  • You get first refusal on cases that match your area and your availability
  • You are matched on the schedule you already told us you can work
  • When several people could take a case, pool members are contacted first

New cases open every week.

HOW IT WORKS

You apply once and tell us two things: your ZIP code and when you can work. When a case opens that fits both, our placement team contacts you directly. You are never applying blind to a posting that has already been filled — we come to you.

Our current RBTs get first look at every new case. Fast Track Placement is next, ahead of public postings.

WHAT THIS ROLE REQUIRES

  • Active RBT certification with the BACB. Not certified yet? See our Behavior Technician posting — we provide the 40-hour training at no cost.
  • Reliable transportation
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to stay active and engaged in session

WHAT YOU GET

  • The RBT Leveling System: pay increases at every level, gift card rewards, priority for client placement, floating holidays
  • Cancellation protection as you level up
  • You pick your clients and set your own hours
  • A BCBA assigned to every case before you start, with the treatment plan and a handoff
  • Capella University partnership: discounted tuition, plus BCBA supervision and a pathway
  • Benefits at 40 hours a week

Apply below. Our placement team will confirm your area and availability, and you are in the pool from that point on.
