Job description

Under the supervision and direction of the VP of Pharmacy Services, provides clinical services and acts as a resource to physicians and nurses and serves as a resource for clinical practice issues, produces clinical recommendations and programs for the pharmacy, and assists in implementing therapeutic initiatives. The employee is a liaison between Pharmacy, Nursing, and Medical staff. The employee will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age of the patients served. Also, responsible for aiding and assisting the Director with patient care decisions and therapies, reviewing current clinical programs, staff and patient education, patient safety programs, pharmacoeconomic programs, and overall process improvement.

Schedule/Hours:

PRN Mon-Fri - 8:00-5:30 PM ( Some locations will have 1 late night per week: 10am to 7pm)

Essential functions:

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of 340B
  • Consistently completes audits
  • Works with the billing coordinator to re-submit corrected pharmacy claims through electronic and paper processes.
  • Compiles and prints reports as needed for audit
  • Maintains organized files
  • Trains new staff on the store-level pharmacy inventory management
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy systems.
  • Responds to pharmacy inventory questions in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Completes online training for pharmacy compliance
  • Maintains accurate documentation of all actions taken on inventory changes and audits
  • Attends center staff meetings
