Position Summary
Central Michigan University, an FBS member of the Mid-American Conference, is seeking applications for a Head Women's Lacrosse Coach to organize, complete scheduling, recruit student-athletes and manage all aspects of the women's lacrosse program. Position is a full-time, 12-month appointment with full benefit package. Salary is commensurate with experience.
This position will oversee all aspects of a Division I program, including the management of two full-time assistant coaches. The Women's Lacrosse Head Coach is responsible for working within a prescribed budget, identifying and recruiting athletically and academically talented student-athletes, meeting fundraising expectations, community service engagement, and maintaining compliance with NCAA, MAC, and CMU rules & regulations.
  • Responsible for directing the planning, organizing scheduling and coaching of the lacrosse program.
  • Provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes.
  • Collaborates with sport administrator and/or Director of Athletics to develop annual goals for program. Communicates program's needs and concerns responsibly and in timely manner.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of the lacrosse staff to include the planning, organizing and coaching of the team; ensure compliance with University, Conference, and NCAA policies.
  • Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters; consult University administration and faculty for resolution of problems as required.
  • Responsible for administration of all phases of the program, including monitoring team budget, travel, completing expense reports, and conducting sports camps and/or clinics.
  • Direct various personnel functions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, transfers and vacation schedules of assistant coaches.
  • Study, evaluate and implement innovations in lacrosse strategy and equipment.
  • Participates in marketing and fundraising initiatives. Engages in special events to generate interest within the University community, alumni, and region.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by sport supervisor and/or Director of Athletics.
