As a Press Operator, you will play a crucial role in producing top-notch printed materials and oversee the operation of our printing press to produce high-quality printed materials. You will be responsible for setting up the press, monitoring production runs, and ensuring that printed products meet quality standards and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in offset printing, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

WHAT DOES MY WORKDAY LOOK LIKE IN THIS ROLE?
  • Set-up of 2 color machine prior to printing.
  • Properly inspect product visually, separate envelopes.
  • Maintain accurate counts of envelopes to boxes, cartons and skids.
  • Pack envelopes uniformly and neatly, keep up with machine speed.
  • Placing of envelopes onto feed of machine.
  • Proper checking of order throughout course of production to ensure accurate labeling, printing, and packaging of product.
  • Removing paper jams, preventative maintenance when scheduled.
  • Adjust ink and water roller pressures.
  • Maintain press and surrounding area to our lean specifications.
SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE IN THIS ROLE HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS
  • Operator Experience
  • Excellent mechanical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Strong Analytical abilities: Analyzing machine operations, inspection of products, locating troublesome elements within machines necessary mechanical adjustments to eliminate quality variations and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Manual dexterity
  • Ability to inspect product visually.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ability to stand for approximate duration of scheduled shift (minus paid breaks), lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally, repetitive grasping, frequent, twisting, lifting above shoulder height, occasional bend, reach, crouch, or stoop during an eight hour shift. Sensory requirements are tactile/touch with hands and digits, near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Reasoning, mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills for appropriate operations of the equipment.
