Manhattan Summer FUN-TERNSHIP!
Location: Manhattan, NY
Job Description:
This summer job program will provide high school students, who are at least 17 years old, with six weeks of paid, hands-on experience in our Carnival cruise terminal operations. Dubbed the "Carnival FUN-ternship Program," the students will work alongside Carnival's guest port services team members who operate the cruise terminals where guests debark and embark their Carnival cruise vacation/ sailing.
Students will shadow and work specific functions of the turnaround day experience, such as warmly welcoming arriving guests, assisting with directing guest flow traffic, supporting existing employees with computerized check-in systems, and more.
Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with Carnival and Intercruises brand standards. You are to always conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner with guests and colleagues.
  • Arrive timely for assigned shifts and proactively assure complete preparation of your work area prior to doors opening for embarkation.
  • Help guide guests through the debark and embark flow inside the terminals
  • Partner with experienced check-in agent to conduct check-in activities such as reviewing guest documentation, ensuring guest properly added to system for cruise manifesting and reviewing check-in completion before allowing guests onboard
  • Assist Guest Port Services team members to look for luggage onboard a vessel
  • Shadow a supervisor responsible for overseeing specific areas/agents
  • Shadow a supervisor as they prepare for the day, submit reports, review back-office responsibilities
  • Utilize FIRST Customer Service standards in accordance with Intercruises brand guidelines.
  • Close each guest transaction warmly and thoroughly with "What Happens Next".
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a high school, and at least 17 years old
  • Must be available to commit to the 8-week program

Pay Range: $18 per hour
