Director of Human Resources - Mechanical Services - Base Salary to 150k/year - Downers Grove, IL

  • Our client is an established mechanical services company supporting commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. The organization provides plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection services focused on operational efficiency, facility performance, and long-term client support.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage day-to-day Human Resources operations
  • Oversee HR administration including employee benefits, insurance administration, onboarding, employee records, and policy management
  • Manage and support Human Resources staff and office administrative personnel
  • Coordinate employee insurance programs including health, dental, vision, workers’ compensation, and related benefits administration
  • Oversee billing, accounts receivable, contracts, and work order administration processes
  • Support payroll coordination and employee documentation management
  • Partner with company leadership on employee relations, organizational operations, and internal administrative processes
  • Maintain HR and personnel documentation in compliance with company policies and employment regulations
  • Assist with operational and administrative functions supporting field service and construction operations

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Human Resources experience
  • Experience managing or leading a Human Resources team
  • Experience with billing and accounts receivable processes
  • Experience administering employee insurance and benefits programs
  • Background working within construction, mechanical services, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, facilities services, or related trades industries
  • Experience supporting operational and administrative functions in a fast-paced service or contracting environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR administrative systems
  • Ability to manage multiple administrative and operational responsibilities simultaneously
