Truck Equipment Installer / Upfitter (12V Electrical & Welding Required)

Roseville, MN

L-Z Truck Equipment Company has been building and customizing commercial work trucks since 1952. We are seeking an experienced Truck Equipment Installer / Upfitter who can perform mechanical installation, electrical wiring, hydraulic integration, and metal fabrication on commercial trucks and trailers.

This is not an automotive repair position. We are specifically looking for candidates with experience installing and modifying truck equipment, service bodies, utility bodies, contractor equipment, hydraulic systems, and vehicle accessories.

What You'll Do

  • Install truck bodies, contractor equipment, and commercial vehicle accessories
  • Perform 12-volt electrical wiring and electrical system upgrades
  • Install alternators, fuse panels, lighting systems, junction boxes, and safety equipment
  • Install and troubleshoot hydraulic systems
  • Fabricate custom brackets, mounts, guards, and supports
  • Weld steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel components
  • Drill, cut, grind, and modify vehicle frames and equipment
  • Read installation drawings and work orders
  • Ensure all installations meet quality and safety standards

What We're Looking For

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

To be considered, candidates should possess most of the following:

✔ 3+ years of truck equipment installation, truck upfitting, fleet maintenance, trailer repair, diesel equipment installation, or similar experience

✔ Strong 12-volt DC electrical troubleshooting and wiring experience

✔ Welding and metal fabrication experience

✔ Experience installing or servicing hydraulic systems

✔ Ability to fabricate brackets, mounts, and custom components

✔ Ability to safely use welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication equipment

✔ Ownership of basic mechanic tools
