Tax Senior / Tax Manager

Core Responsibilities

  • Compliance & Review: Prepare, review, and sign off on complex federal and state tax returns, including Form 1040 (individuals), 1065 (partnerships), 1120S (S-Corps), 1120 (C-Corps), and 1041 (estates and trusts).

  • Tax Planning: Advise and execute advanced tax-planning strategies for High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) and Ultra High Net Worth Individuals (UHNWI), focusing on wealth preservation, income optimization, and estate/trust considerations.

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise, mentor, and review the work of staff accountants, manage workflows, and provide constructive feedback to accelerate team development.

  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary, highly responsive client contact for technical inquiries, status updates, and strategic planning sessions.

  • Advanced Research: Conduct rigorous tax research on complex technical issues, formulating actionable recommendations for firm partners and clients.

  • Process Optimization: Drive efficiency through modern tax software and automation tools, ensuring top-tier quality control and timely delivery across all engagements.

  • Business Development: Support firm growth by preparing client proposals, leading introductory meetings, and identifying cross-selling opportunities across advisory services.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certification: Active CPA license required (or eligible to sit/license).

  • Experience Level:

    • 3+ public accounting experience.

  • Technical Mastery: Demonstrated proficiency in managing 1040, 1065, 1120S, 1120, and 1041 returns, alongside deep knowledge of federal and state tax compliance.

  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with professional tax compliance software (e.g., UltraTax, Lacerte, ProSystem fx) and advanced Excel capabilities.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax strategies into clear, actionable advice for non-technical clients.

  • Ethical Standards: Uncompromising integrity, elite organizational skills, and the capacity to successfully manage multiple concurrent deadlines under pressure
