Job description

Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) to provide direct instructional services to a preschool-aged student in Brooklyn, NY. This is a part-time position, approximately 10 hours per week, beginning September 2026. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood special education and committed to helping children reach their developmental and academic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 or small group SEIT services in accordance with the student's IEP
  • Implement individualized goals and track student progress
  • Communicate regularly with parents, agency staff, and related service providers
  • Maintain accurate session notes and required documentation
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher and support team as needed

Qualifications

  • Valid NYS certification in Students with Disabilities (Birth–2, or applicable extension)
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children with special needs preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Reliable and punctual, with the ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule
