Gym Director/General Manager
My Gym White Rock is looking for an energetic, hands-on leader who is equally excited about working with children and growing a successful business.
This is not a traditional desk-based management role. Our Gym Director will teach classes, connect with families, coach employees, enroll new members, and manage the gym's daily operations.
The right person will be warm, playful, confident, organized, and business-minded. You should feel as comfortable leading a room full of toddlers as you do following up with a prospective member, developing an employee, or reviewing business performance.
My Gym White Rock is preparing to open in Fall 2026. You will join before opening and help build our team, culture, membership base, and family experience from the beginning.
Compensation: $40,000-$55,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Lead Children's Programs
  • Teach movement, gymnastics, and enrichment classes for children ages 3 months to 10 years
  • Lead birthday parties, camps, special events, and community activities
  • Create an environment where children feel safe, included, confident, and successful
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and caregivers
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and high-energy gym

Lead the Team
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and coach instructors
  • Model excellent teaching, customer service, and professionalism
  • Provide clear feedback and hold employees accountable
  • Build a positive and supportive team culture
  • Step in wherever needed to keep operations running smoothly

Grow the Business
  • Follow up with leads by phone, text, and email
  • Explain memberships, and ask families to enroll
  • Build relationships with schools, daycares, parent groups, and local businesses
  • Represent My Gym at community events
  • Monitor enrollment, retention, payroll, and operating goals

Manage Operations
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, member communication, and daily workflow
  • Handle family questions and concerns professionally
  • Maintain records and follow company policies and safety procedures
  • Work closely with the owner to establish priorities and execute growth plans
Who We're Looking For:
You may be a strong fit if you:
  • Have meaningful experience working directly with young children
  • Have led employees, programs, classrooms, locations, or business operations
  • Are expressive, playful, energetic, and comfortable being silly
  • Communicate naturally with parents
  • Enjoy relationship-based sales and are comfortable asking families to enroll
  • Balance warmth and fun with high standards and accountability
  • Take ownership and follow through
  • Are excited to help build a new business

Relevant experience may include children's programming, education, childcare, camps, recreation, fitness, hospitality, retail management, membership sales, or another family-focused business.
Gymnastics experience is not required. Extensive training will be provided.
Schedule and Requirements
  • Four weekday shifts and one weekend shift
  • Weekend availability required
  • Ability to remain active, sit on the floor, climb, bend, and demonstrate movements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Some pre-opening travel required
