Lead Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

The SPEAK Center for Language and Learning is a leading provider of speech and language services in Arizona. We specialize in working with children with developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), to help them achieve their communication goals and improve their overall quality of life. Our team is dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care to every child we serve, and we are committed to supporting our staff in their professional growth and development.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team at The SPEAK Center for Language and Learning. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, the Lead SLP will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication disorders in children with developmental disabilities. Additionally, this role will include supervisory responsibilities for 2 Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) and one intern per semester.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and each child's unique needs and goals.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address communication challenges, including articulation, language comprehension, expressive language, fluency, and voice disorders.
  • Supervise and mentor 2 SLPAs and one intern per semester, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, and educators, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for each child.
  • Educate and support families/caregivers on strategies to promote communication and language development in everyday settings.
  • Monitor and document progress regularly through ongoing assessments and adjust treatment plans as needed to maximize outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress reports in accordance with regulatory standards and clinic policies.
  • Attend bi-monthly staff meetings.
  • Stay abreast of current research and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology through continuing education and professional development activities.

Caseload:

  • 80% Home Health
  • 20% Clinic-Based

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Valid AZ State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • CPR/ First Aid/ Article 9 Training.
  • Professional Liability Insurance.
  • Experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, with a genuine commitment to supporting children and families on their journey to improved communication and quality of life.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
