Job description

Job Title: Production Associate
Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and safety‑focused Production Associate to support daily operations in a fast‑paced steel manufacturing environment. In this role, you help ensure high‑quality production, efficient workflow, and the safe operation of equipment throughout the facility by assisting with material handling, basic assembly tasks, and supporting machine operators and welders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the manufacturing, processing, and handling of steel piling, pipe, and structural products.
  • Load and unload steel materials safely, ensuring proper tagging, staging, and storage to maintain accurate inventory and efficient workflow.
  • Perform quality checks on materials by verifying measurements, specifications, and overall product integrity using appropriate tools.
  • Follow production schedules and work orders to meet daily output goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work area in accordance with established safety and housekeeping guidelines.
  • Support machine operators and welders with material preparation, staging, and workflow needs to keep production moving smoothly.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and correctly for basic assembly, fabrication, and material handling tasks as needed.
  • Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or production delays to supervisors promptly to prevent downtime and maintain a safe workplace.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and consistently follow all OSHA and company safety protocols.
  • Work effectively in a field labor and construction‑type environment, adapting to changing production priorities and tasks.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to accurately use a tape measure to verify material dimensions and product specifications.
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools in an industrial, construction, or assembly environment.
  • Comfort working in field labor or construction‑style settings that involve physical tasks and material handling.
  • Basic assembly skills and the ability to follow work orders and production instructions.
  • Strong focus on safety, including adherence to OSHA and company safety protocols.
  • Ability to perform quality checks and visually inspect materials for defects or non‑conformance.
  • Capability to lift, move, and handle steel materials safely as part of daily production activities.
  • Reliability and punctuality to support consistent production output in a fast‑paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience in steel manufacturing, construction, or industrial production environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with material tagging, staging, and storage processes in a warehouse or production setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with machine operators, welders, and other team members.
  • Strong communication skills to report equipment issues, safety concerns, and production delays promptly.
  • Willingness to participate in cross‑training to learn multiple tasks and support different areas of the facility.
Why Work Here?

Employees benefit from comprehensive health insurance coverage, including medical, vision, and dental plans, as well as strong retirement benefits with 401(k) matching. Team members have the opportunity to participate in employee share buying and profit sharing, with yearly bonuses tied to company performance. Weekly production bonuses reward strong individual and team contributions, and cross‑training opportunities help employees grow their skills and advance within the organization.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non‑climate‑controlled steel manufacturing facility, where temperatures may vary with the seasons and production demands. The environment is fast‑paced and industrial, with active material handling, use of hand and power tools, and close collaboration with machine operators and welders. Safety protocols, including daily safety meetings and adherence to OSHA standards, play a central role in daily operations, and maintaining a clean and organized work area is essential.
