Job Description

Benefits:

Signode offers a comprehensive benefits package to full-time employees, which includes health, dental, vision, 401k, paid time off, life insurance, wellness perks, and more. Benefits begin the month following the hire date.

Salary:

The hourly wage for this position starts ranges from $27.50 - $31.50 and varies based on specific responsibilities and geographic location. Starting hourly rate within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or skillset.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm with some overtime

Summary:

As an Engineering Technician your primary role is to support engineering/Operations in development and application projects. This includes but is not limited to assembling and breaking down automated machinery, conducting tests on development projects and recording all the relevant data under minimal supervision. You would also be required to troubleshoot equipment and perform the necessary repairs of both electrical and mechanical components. You will also be required to effectively communicate and coordinate with external customers globally.

Essential Functions:

  • Strong Mechanical and Electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical equipment components.
  • Assemble and breakdown prototype equipment in the lab and in the field, under minimal direction from an engineer.
  • Setup and perform product testing with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to utilize basic measurement tools (tape measure, caliper and micrometer).
  • Ability to utilize common assembly tools (drills, hammers and wrenches).
  • Ability to use a forklift.
  • Ability to use advanced assembly\fabrication methods. (Welding/Plasma cutting and light machining).
  • Collect, document and communicate data and observations amongst team.
  • Travel domestically up to 10% of the time
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications

Education:

Associates degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience.
  • Experience in development or technical support of industrial equipment a plus.
  • Experience working directly with engineers in a technical support capacity.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics required.
