Job description

Front Door Technician

Pay Range: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
(Actual pay offered will be based on experience, skill level, and qualifications.)

Position Summary

Sea Fox Boats is seeking an experienced Front Door Technician to join our production team. This position is responsible for completing final installation, fit-and-finish, and quality-related tasks on newly manufactured boats before they advance to the final detailing process. The ideal candidate has marine manufacturing experience, strong assembly skills, excellent attention to detail, and takes pride in producing a high-quality finished product.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and complete front door kits, including decals, safety information, windscreens, and related components according to production specifications.

  • Perform final fit-and-finish work on completed boats to ensure proper appearance and quality.

  • Inspect completed work to identify defects, missing components, installation issues, or inconsistencies.

  • Conduct thorough self-inspections before completed boats are presented for Quality Control review.

  • Complete assigned items identified on Quality Control checklists.

  • Communicate with Quality Control inspectors to ensure all required work is completed before the boat advances through production.

  • Work closely with supervisors, team leads, and other production departments to maintain workflow and ensure production requirements are met.

  • Identify and correct installation or finishing issues before completion.

  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment required to complete assigned work.

  • Maintain productivity while meeting daily and weekly production goals.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Properly care for and maintain tools, equipment, and production materials.

  • Communicate material shortages, quality concerns, or production issues to leadership.

  • Follow work instructions, production procedures, quality standards, and all company safety requirements.

  • Work collaboratively with other production team members to maintain workflow and meet production goals.

  • Assist with training and mentoring team members as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in marine manufacturing, boat building, boat assembly, or a similar marine production environment is required.

  • Previous experience with boat assembly, marine components, installation, finishing, or related production work is required.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to complete detailed assembly and installation work.

  • Ability to accurately install, fit, align, and secure components according to production requirements.

  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, diagrams, and production requirements.

  • Experience safely operating hand tools, power tools, and related installation equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship and finished appearance.

  • Ability to identify problems, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary adjustments.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a production team.

  • Dependable attendance and ability to meet production schedules.

  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to producing a quality product.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in a marine manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, fiberglass materials, and varying temperatures.

  • Must be comfortable working around boats, production equipment, tools, and materials.

  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements required for installation and assembly tasks.

  • Ability to safely work with components installed at various heights and positions.

  • Must follow required safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
