About the role
The Case Handler will work in shipping and receiving to load trucks to be sent directly to customers and stores. The Case Handler will also unload merchandise from the trucks. The Case Handler will be familiar with the Manhattan PKMS operating system and perform all functions as assigned in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Specific functions are performed in the following functional areas - Receiving, Reserve (put away/pull), Cubiscan, Decant, Returns, Value Added Services (VAS) and Replenishment. Will also be cross-trained in Outbound functions. Through the course of normal business operations, management reserves the right to update and/or modify SOPs. Changes will be communicated and training will be conducted as applicable.

  • ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with the respective Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) as applicable to the specific job assignment
  • ensuring that work is performed in accordance with labor management standards as applicable to the specific job assignment
  • safe operation of powered equipment to lift, move, position and re-position merchandise.
  • ensuring high quality standards of performance / accuracy that achieve customer satisfaction
  • working in a manner to ensure associate's safety as well as the safety of fellow associates
  • ensuring adherence to all Distribution Center (DC) work rules, as well as HR and Loss Prevention policies and procedures
  • reporting to work as scheduled and working required overtime as necessary
  • performing duties while exercising proper lifting and material handling techniques
  • ensuring that all equipment, necessary to perform job responsibilities, is in proper working order at the start of and throughout all job assignments
  • performing other tasks as directed by FC leadership

You'll bring to the role
A sense of teamwork through your ability to:
  • successfully complete Powered Equipment Certification and safely operate powered equipment
  • work at heights up to 55 feet
  • have a working knowledge of PKMS system
  • meet physical demands involving frequent and extended periods of lifting, pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds, standing, walking, bending, kneeling and reaching overhead
  • understand RFID technology
  • understand basic reading, writing, math and PC skills
  • carry out verbal and/or written instructions
  • organize, problem solve and make decisions
  • work productively with a wide range of people
  • pass a drug screen and background check
  • High school diploma/GED preferred
