Job description

Overview:


Starting Pay Rate is $36.90/hr, can be more based on experience, Pay will commensurate with experience

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm

This position will be specifically for the counties of Athens, Guernsey, Morgan, and Muskingum. Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.


Job Description Summary:


Provides comprehensive community health nursing services to women and their families as part of the NFP program. Adheres to the NFP model, and to policies, procedures, guidelines and standards of NFP, The Center for Family Safety and Healing, and Nationwide Children's Hospital. Practices professional nursing and promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and maintains a current Ohio Nursing License. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.


Job Description:


Essential Functions:

  • Provides home visits to women and their families for the duration of the NFP program.
  • Delivers individualized, comprehensive care across the six programmatic domains: personal health, environmental health, life course development, maternal role, family & friends, and health & human services.
  • Contributes to a positive work environment that promotes productivity, mentoring, teamwork and cooperation. Actively participates in case conferences, team meetings, one to one supervision, and departmental meetings.
  • Stays informed of current healthcare developments, trends, and professional development to provide safe, quality nurse home visiting services
  • Provides education, support, and referral resources in assisting women and their families in attaining their targeted goal.

Education Requirement:

BSN, preferred.


Licensure Requirement:

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.


Skills:

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking) highly desirable.


Experience:

Two years recent experience in maternal/child health, public health, home visiting or equivalent combination of education/experience, preferred.


Physical Requirements:

OCCASIONALLY: Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Electricity, Lifting / Carrying: 11-20 lbs, Machinery, Patient Equipment, Pushing / Pulling: 0-25 lbs, Reaching above shoulder

FREQUENTLY: Bend/twist, Climb stairs/ladder, Color vision, Depth perception, Driving motor vehicles (work required) *additional testing may be required, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Peripheral vision, Seeing - Far/near, Squat/kneel, Standing, Walking

CONTINUOUSLY: Audible speech, Decision Making, Hearing acuity, Interpreting Data, Problem solving, Repetitive hand/arm use, Sitting
