Job description

We are the people who give possibilities purpose

BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health is our Purpose, and it's no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us-from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year-to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.

Job Description

Summary:

The Sr. CPQ Business Analyst will take a lead role in eliciting, documenting, and validating business requirements from stakeholders, translating them into user stories and functional specifications for quoting and configure-price-quote capability across regions. The Sr. BA will work independently within an Agile (SAFe) framework, managing requirements workstreams and serving as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the BD Technology and Digital Solutions (TDS) team. The Sr. BA will facilitate workshops with business and IT stakeholders, analyze processes and data to identify gaps and improvement opportunities, and own stakeholder relationships more broadly. (Manager-level BAs additionally lead junior analysts and own stakeholder relationships.)

Ideal candidates for this position will be strong business and systems thinkers, using independent judgment to analyze, coordinate, and optimize solutions that achieve desired results. Practicing excellent verbal and written communication skills while being self-directed, with the ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels will be key for success in this role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Elicit, document, and validate business requirements from stakeholders.

  • Translate business needs into user stories and functional specifications.

  • Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and UAT coordination.

  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, align priorities, and drive decisions.

  • Analyze CPQ data and processes to identify gaps and improvement areas, providing recommendations aligned to BD's long-term Revenue Technology strategy and the common blueprint.

  • Capture legacy and offline contract or quoting processes (PDFs, SharePoint, spreadsheets, regional systems) and bring them into a standardized model.

  • Define "what good looks like" with deep business intimacy, ensuring solutions reflect the real needs of the quote-to-contract process.

  • Act as liaison between business users and technical delivery teams (IT/ TDS and vendor partners).

  • Develop reporting and dashboards that support business needs and measurement of Revenue Technology KPIs.

Minimum Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree (any preference in type or major)

  • 5+ years of combined experience as a business analyst supporting CPQ or quote-to-cash systems.

  • Experience systematizing new business processes, efficiencies, and business improvements.

  • Agile certified; strong experience in the Scaled Agile (SAFe) development framework.

  • Experience interacting with both "business" and "technical" partners.

  • Experience spanning multiple technology platforms and willingness to become proficient over and above the required specialty (e.g., Oracle CPQ, Conga/Apttus CLM, Bids & Tenders).

  • Experience driving organizational change by influencing others without authority.

  • Ability to travel ~10% required.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Oracle and/or Conga/ Salesforce CPQ platform certification.
