Job description

A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated professional specializing in education for the visually impaired. This full-time role for the new school year will allow you to support students by providing tailored instruction and collaborating closely with staff and families.
Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience working within a school setting, ideally supporting students with visual impairments
  • Demonstrated ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt curriculum materials
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and organizational skills
  • Flexibility and problem-solving abilities, especially in dynamic educational environments
Your Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive instruction to students with visual impairments across various grade levels
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to facilitate an inclusive instructional environment
  • Assess student needs, monitor progress, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including regular updates to IEPs
  • Offer guidance and resources to families to support student growth outside of the classroom
  • Participate in meetings next week to discuss position details and program goals
