Description
t• Oversee the Material Handling staff:
° Prioritize planned daily workload in all areas of responsibility and arrange for the right volume of staff to keep operations effective but cost-efficient. Collaborate with Assistant Operations Manager on daily material handling staff needs and coverage.
° Ensure that all Material Handling personnel are properly trained and certified for the equipment they use.
° Develop work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
° Ensure that all employees are following all applicable health and safety regulations (including OSHA) and other company-related policies and procedures.
• Oversee Inbound Trailer Unloading activities:
° Monitor the daily schedule of incoming shipments and materials and troubleshoot late shipments with carriers and vendors.
° Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of incoming shipment unloading activities.
° Investigate and solve customer receiving problems and issues in collaboration with Inbound Administrator and Inventory Control.
° Collaborate with the Inbound Administrator and Inventory Control to ensure the accuracy and completeness of inbound pallets received in the Warehouse Management System.
• Oversee Outbound Shipment activities:
° Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the preparation of bills of lading, packing lists and other shipment documentation, per Vista and customer requirements.
° Ensure the accuracy, completeness, undamaged product/pallet integrity and safety of outbound trailer loading; inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with customers' specifications.
° Manage trailer flow with assistance of Security to ensure dock operations remain fluid.
• Oversee Material Movement activities (Put Away, Picking, Staging, Re-warehousing, etc.):
° Ensure the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of inbound pallet put away, and staging of the inbound shipment in the staging area.
° Ensure the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of product picking and staging.
° Oversee periodic re-warehousing of pallets to maximize facility capacity and material movement efficiency.
• Oversee Facility Use and Upkeep (Shipping/Receiving Dock and Storage areas):
° Monitor warehouse floor space usage for receiving and shipping activities, and troubleshoot and resolve any issues to keep receiving and shipping activities timely and damage to a minimum.
° Ensure warehouse is organized, clean and safe at all times and is compliant with facility maintenance procedures.
• Participate in planning activities and discussions, regarding:
° Prioritization of daily work load
° Performance, effectiveness and continuous improvement of shipping, receiving, transportation and storage activities
° Material movement travel paths and safety
° Facility space utilization
Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. High School Diploma or GED required. College 4-yr or 2-yr degree preferred.
2. 2-4 years' experience in logistics leadership role.
3. Proven leadership and team development skills.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
5. Excellent attention to detail; multi-tasking ability.
6. Proficiency with MS-Office software and Warehouse Management Systems required.
