Job description

ABOUT THE SITE
Anduril, a leader in autonomous systems and weapons manufacturing, is building Arsenal-1, its first hyperscale manufacturing facility, just south of Columbus, Ohio in Pickaway County. Arsenal-1 is redefining the scale and speed that autonomous systems and weapons can be produced for the United States and its allies and partners. This is a monumental and essential step toward rebuilding America's defense industrial base, strengthening America's warfighting capabilities, and enhancing deterrence amid rising international threats.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Our team is building and scaling production of next-generation autonomous air vehicles at Arsenal. We own the full integration line, from subassembly through final acceptance testing, and are ramping from early production into rate. The team works hand-in-hand with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and MRB to solve problems on the floor and get units out the door.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Tool & Gauge Technician is the site's asset management lead for tooling and calibrated gauges: sourcing and
maintaining the tools, gauges, and consumables production depends on; tracking every calibrated asset on site per
program requirements and working alongside the calibration team; enforcing tool control and FOD prevention
procedure; and operating the site's Tool Crib so every technician has reliable access to the tooling they need, when
they need it. This role is also the named point of contact for tooling and asset management objective evidence
supporting AS9100 quality system compliance and DCMA surveillance activities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own asset management and control procedure for all calibrated instruments on site: serve as the sole tracker of location and ownership in the calibration registry at all times.
  • Maintain objective evidence for Standard Tool & Equipment Inventory and calibration compliance artifacts required under AS9100 and manufacturing readiness level (MRL) assessment.
  • Support DCMA surveillance activities with accurate, audit ready tooling and asset records.
  • Own and govern the site's tool control procedure: broken tool replacement, tagging, engraving, and ownership handoff to station leads.
  • Serve as named asset management POC for manufacturing readiness assessments and produce the calibration compliance artifact when required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience standing up or running a tool crib / tool control program in an aerospace or defense manufacturing environment, ideally under AS9100 and DCMA oversight.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in tool & die, machining, quality, or calibration preferred.
  • Basic training in tool control and work order release methods; comfortable working with a variety of forms, records, and reports.
  • Familiarity with tools, gages, and consumable supplies, with a basic knowledge of storekeeping methods and inventory procedures.
  • 6 to 12 months of relevant tool control / tool crib experience.
  • Demonstrated experience tracking calibrated instruments in a registry/asset management system, including coordination with a third party calibration vendor.
  • Strong purchasing/vendor management experience; comfortable working across multiple procurement systems (e.g., Oracle purchase request tools).
  • Able to read engineering specifications (bolt/fastener specs, drawings, operation sheets) well enough to correct a tool or part request before it's purchased.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office; good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret Clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Highly organized and self directed; able to manage a high volume of externally driven requests (historically ~15 to 20/day at this site) without losing track of standing priority work
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 quality system requirements and DCMA surveillance/government property expectations as they apply to tooling and calibration records.
  • Experience administering a Jira/Confluence based request intake workflow.
  • Basic scripting or data management ability (e.g., Python) to support inventory tooling.
