Job description

Student Assistant

Department: Libraries | Information Technology-JM

Position requires close attention to detail, typing ability, and the ability to communicate effectively and to work closely with staff in a friendly, team environment. Responsible for scanning documents to specifications, creating Adobe PDF files, performing OCR (Optical Character Recognition), alphabetizing materials, proofreading, editing and making corrections to digital documents, and entering data into programs to track digital documents. Position requires the use of equipment to cut books/printed materials apart for scanning and the movement of book trucks and book bins. Must be on time and dependable. Other office duties as assigned. All training provided.

Qualifications: Experience with computers. Ability to follow directions. Familiarity with software programs: Adobe, MS Word, Excel, Airtable, and Microsoft Teams. Working over breaks and summer semester desired but not required.

Pre-training work hours available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:30am-5pm Post training work hours available Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

Starting hourly rate of $13.50.
