Job Title: Light Industrial Assembler $18-$22/hr
Job Description
Join a long-established, family-owned manufacturing organization that builds industrial-scale sugar and flour processing equipment for major commercial bakeries. As a Light Industrial Assembler, you will play a key role in mechanically assembling, deburring, and cleaning complex processing systems using hand and power tools in a clean, quiet manufacturing environment. This position operates on a first-shift schedule and offers the opportunity to learn multiple departments and grow your mechanical skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical assembly of industrial processing equipment, including motors, rackings, and related components, according to specifications and work instructions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools such as drills, impact tools, screwdrivers, hammers, and air tools to assemble and secure parts.
- Deburr metal components and clean assembled products to ensure high-quality finishes and safe operation.
- Read and interpret tape measurements accurately, including converting decimals to fractions to ensure precise cutting and assembly.
- Assist with sheet metal fabrication tasks when required, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Work independently for extended periods while maintaining productivity and attention to detail in a quiet manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical assembly experience with components such as motors, rackings, and related mechanical systems.
- Proficiency using hand and power tools including drills, impact tools, tape measures, screwdrivers, hammers, and air tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly during the workday.
- Strong basic math skills, including converting decimals to fractions.
- Ability to work independently for long periods while maintaining quality and productivity.
- Ability to work 10 hour shifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience deburring metal components.
- Experience with automotive maintenance.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Prior work history in a manufacturing environment, preferably in assembly or fabrication.

Work Environment
The role is based in a fairly clean manufacturing facility with some steel scrapings on the floor and a quiet atmosphere that allows for focused, independent work. Operations run on a first-shift schedule only, typically from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, with the possibility of working until 3:30 PM on Fridays depending on demand.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
