Job description

Job Title: Field Technician HVAC Controls
Location:
Dublin, OH
Duration: 06+ Months (Contract/Temp with the possibility of extension)
Shift: 1st Shift

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Field Technician HVAC Controls to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, servicing, and maintaining commercial HVAC control systems at customer sites. The ideal candidate has strong BAS/BMS experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while delivering exceptional customer service.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential to transition into a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:
Commission and configure Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC control systems.
Load and configure system-level controller software.
Perform system diagnostics and troubleshoot BAS controllers, sensors, actuators, and field devices.
Complete point-to-point verification and commissioning of HVAC control devices.
Calibrate control systems using electronic test equipment.
Diagnose and resolve HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls issues.
Document system modifications and provide information for as-built documentation.
Complete daily technician reports, timesheets, expense reports, and service documentation.
Communicate project progress and technical updates with customers and internal teams.
Identify opportunities to improve building performance and recommend system enhancements.
Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
Travel to customer sites for installation, startup, commissioning, and service activities.

Required Qualifications:
Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent education in Electronics, HVAC, Mechanical Systems, Computer Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
4+ years of experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) or Building Management Systems (BMS).
Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC control systems and equipment.
Experience with BACnet controllers is highly preferred.
Hands-on experience with: Commissioning and startup, System diagnostics, Point-to-point checkout, BAS troubleshooting
Knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, including: VAV Boxes, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Boilers, Chillers, Dampers, Control Valves, Room and Discharge Air Sensors
Experience programming or configuring HVAC control software.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting.
Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently in a field service environment.
Ability to safely work on step ladders and extension ladders.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally to customer sites.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or 8+ years of field experience.
Experience with leading BAS platforms such as Metasys, Niagara, Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Automated Logic (ALC), Alerton, or similar systems.
Previous field service or commissioning experience within commercial buildings.
