Job description

CDL A Reefer Truck Driver - West Jefferson, OH - $1,864/Wk
Location: West Jefferson, Ohio
Average Earnings: $1,864 per week — approximately $96,934 annualized
Position Overview
Our client is hiring CDL-A drivers for a dedicated big-box retail account running a mix of shuttles, full loads and store deliveries out of West Jefferson, Ohio. Freight on this fleet is tri-temp and dual-temp refrigerated, store unload observed by driver; lift gate and pallet jack at inner-city stores, running downtown Chicago and the surrounding Chicago suburbs.
Home time is weekly, which makes this a strong fit for drivers who want a predictable routine and a consistent paycheck rather than long, open-ended stretches on the road. Average earnings on this account run $1,864 per week, approximately $96,934 annualized.
Key Responsibilities
You will operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and legally at all times, completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, monitoring your hours of service, and keeping your logs accurate and current in accordance with federal regulations and company policy.
You will transport freight on schedule across downtown Chicago and the surrounding Chicago suburbs, following assigned routes, planning fuel and rest stops sensibly, and communicating proactively with your fleet manager when weather, traffic, or a customer delay puts a delivery window at risk.
The fleet runs shuttles from points in Whitestown and Demotte, Indiana alongside full loads and direct deliveries.
All loads are preloaded on tri-temp or dual-temp reefers.
Most stores unload themselves with the driver observing. Inner-city stores require the use of a lift gate and pallet jack.
This is one of the stronger-earning home-weekly lanes on the account list.
Freight handling is part of this role rather than an occasional extra. You will work the freight as described above, so a reasonable level of physical fitness and a willingness to stay active through the shift are genuine requirements, not preferences.
You will represent our client professionally at every customer location, maintain the condition and cleanliness of your assigned equipment, and report mechanical issues promptly so they are addressed before they become a breakdown.
Requirements
A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License is required, along with a minimum of 3 months of verifiable CDL-A driving experience. You must meet all Department of Transportation qualification requirements and hold a current DOT medical certification.
An acceptable motor vehicle record and safety history are required. You must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and comply with all federal testing requirements throughout your employment.
The role requires the physical capability to perform the freight handling described above, including repeated lifting, climbing in and out of the trailer, and sustained activity across a full shift. Hiring in OH, IN, KY and within 50 miles of Chicago, IL. Trucks may be parked in a safe, secure location.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior refrigerated experience is strongly preferred. Comfort managing reefer units, monitoring temperature settings, and recognizing a problem before it becomes a claim matters on this freight.
A clean safety record, consistent on-time performance, and a track record of steady tenure with previous carriers all strengthen an application. Drivers who communicate well with dispatch, handle customer contact professionally, and take care of their equipment tend to do well on dedicated accounts like this one.
Compensation and Benefits
Average earnings on this account are $1,864 per week, approximately $96,934 annualized. Pay is made up of: Mileage pay; Stop pay; Detention pay.
Home time: Home Weekly. Two to three days home weekly with a 34-hour reset. This is a 24/7 operation and shift times vary — current hours run 21:00 to noon, seven days a week with no set days off.
Equipment: top-of-the-line automatic transmission trucks hauling 28' and 53' trailers. There are currently 7 openings on this fleet.
We place drivers directly with the fleets we represent, and we stay with you through the process — application, orientation scheduling, and the first weeks on the account. If this fleet is not the right fit, we recruit for a range of dedicated, regional, local and team accounts nationwide and will point you toward one that matches your home time and earnings goals.
We are an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must meet all Department of Transportation qualification requirements, including a current DOT medical certification.
